Perfect for my skin!
I have pale sensitive skin and also need to wear sunscreen every day. I had been using separate moisturizer, sunscreen and lightweight foundation, but this product was recommended by a Follain representative. In spite of its price I tried it and after one or two days I was hooked. The tint is enough to even out my skin and allow me to give up foundation altogether. In addition, my skin is clearer and smoother and my pores actually seem smaller. This product is amazing. It’s important to use the nydrating accelerator!
Wanted to Love, but too Greasy
It does the job, but a little thin and greasy to me. For the price, was hoping for more. Smells great though.
I like the idea of a tinted SPF 30 non-toxic moisturizer, but I really can’t see much difference in the health of my skin. Perhaps I need to be using this product for longer to see any difference. It is over priced – and Follain charges $10. more than Credo.
BEST moisturizer I have ever used
sincerely, this stuff is the best. I have never used foundation in my daily routine because I felt that most of them were very pore-clogging, but this stuff is the best of both worlds: it is moisturizing AND gives you that photo-finish look of foundations without the junk found in most of them. PLUS it has 30 SPF!! What more can you ask for?! I was really concerned about the price-point, but it is SO worth it. I am so glad I ventured out to try this. I already purchased one for a friend of mine because I believe in it that much. Happy gal right here!
the perfect moisturizer!
this stuff is amazing! It is very light, toxin-free, and yet still manages to give you that smooth, freshly-applied foundation look before you head out the door. I’m so happy I tried this out. It’s perfect for daily sun protection and for the no-makeup make-up look 🙂
Lovely and non-drying
I have very sensitive, rosacea-prone skin and I’d been using another brand for years. I wanted to go all natural again so I thought it was time to see what else was out there. So glad I did! My other product was greasy yet looked flaky on my skin. JR is so much less greasy and is a more moisturizing formula. My skin looks matte and clear. The tint is also a bit lighter, which is good for my fair skin. I can see if one has very dry skin that this might be too dry, but I use it as recommended with the hydration accelerator and it works beautifully.
Can get babyganics spf cream for face for 10$ and have the same effect. Unimpressed and disappointed with this small small bottle of face cream
Worth the $
My second bottle of this and will continue to re order. The price is high for a tinted moisturizer SPF but it keeps my skin hydrated, glowy, doesn’t clog my pores/doesn’t cause breakouts, and protects from the sun. This is all I wear on my skin plus a little RMS uncover it and it feels lightweight but gives great coverage. I like the old packaging though. It used to be a clear/frosted bottle so you could see how much is left – now you can’t which makes it even harder to get the lotion out that is stuck at the bottom. I use every last drop of it so I shake out as much as I can or use a spatty daddy ** (look that up).
only sunscreen I’ve ever loved!!
I really cannot day enough about this product, I’ve tried a lot of other natural sunscreens but this one is 10 times better than any other out there. To start, the packaging is simple, easy to use, and beautiful. Secondly, the smell is SO lovely. The only sunscreen I actually want to apply as the final step in my skincare routine. Lastly, it absorbs perfectly and helps to even skin tone and hydrate skin without being greasy in the least bit. Wears great to the gym or just to quickly walk the dogs but is flawless under makeup, especially for someone like me that uses a simple pressed powder foundation. Highly recommend!!
Soft and subtle, easy to blend tint
I like that this is smooth, easy to apply, and yet absorbs quickly. It’s a nice compromise between a lotion and a cream. I will be trying the regular formula for days when I won’t be leaving home.
Tried on a lot SPF moisturizers; JR was the winner!
For some time now, I’d been on a hunt for a BB cream/tinted moisturizer with SPF and the cleanest ingredients possible, something with light coverage that gave the skin a glow and protected from sun exposure. From what I’d read, non-nano zinc is the best and healthiest sun protector, so I narrowed it down to a few brands that fit this description from Follain, the clean section at Sephora, and others I discovered on the Internet: True Botanicals, Coola BB cream, Suntegrity, Eminence Organics, and Josh Rosebrook. No spoiler here—the JR Day Cream my favorite. It’s between creamy and liquid in texture, and the formula is very spreadable and goes on easily without balling up (sadly, TB, which I have a fierce loyalty to otherwise, balled up and felt very dry and cakey). I usually use a pump-and-a-half for coverage; more when I want more protection. The JR has a very sweet scent, oddly evocative of baked goods, but to my surprise I find the scent delicious. Out of the brands I tried, JR easily felt the best on, neither tacky nor drying, but clean, like a nice moisturizer. (Some of them look great on at first, but have a drying effect later.) Where the decision will really vary, person to person, is on coverage. If you’re looking for coverage and a visible tint, this is not for you (for tint/coverage, I’d go with Eminence, for more of a glow, Coola; both were very flattering on). This is subtle, but I don’t think the tint is non-existent, as some reviewers said. For me personally, I think it’s a great level of tint for daily wear, and it layers well with foundation for the rare times I want more coverage. I found the Suntegrity to wear extremely similarly, so I think it’d make a great (and less expensive!) substitute. Winner! 🙂
Enjoying it so far!
Been using this for about two weeks now and I’m really liking it. I have fair skin that floats between oily/combination and can burn easily if I don’t have the right coverage on. This gives a subtle base tint and a really nice glow for me to add the slightest bit of powder/bronzer and then I’m good to go. Glides on easily and blends well without feeling heavy. Enjoying using it so far and I’m sure the bottle will last me some time. Also love all the natural ingredients.
So far so good!
Slight smell to it but I don’t mind – sorta smells like cupcakes and wears right off. It’s a really light coverage and doesn’t feel like a thick lotion. Still only a week in but so far so good!
Effective SPF, Barely There Tint
This is my first time purchasing the tinted Nutrient Day Cream. I’ve adored the original (un-tinted) formulation in the past, as it’s moisturizing capabilities are perfection, and I don’t have to worry about the zinc since it’s non-nano. It also helps that the smell is heavenly!!!! I maintain all of the same praises with the tinted version; however, I have found that the tint doesn’t even out my skin tone or counteract redness (as claimed) in the slightest. I’ll go back to the original formulation in the future.
My everyday go-to
My skin is very sensitive to products, but also the environment. I have to be super careful of the sun, so I’m always on the lookout for products with SPF. I’ve been using this almost every day for about a year, and I can’t say enough about it. I love the way it glides onto my skin and leaves me feeling like I’m wearing nothing at all. I take a minimalist approach to my everyday makeup, so this fits perfectly with my routine. It won’t cover up freckles, but it does even-out skin tone – at least it does for mine, which is pale with pinky undertones. It also sits well under other makeup.
Not the right tint for my skin but a nice moisturizer with SPF
I like the light and non-greasy feel of this moisturizer. However, the tint does not work for my olive skin tone. It also has a slight smell to it.
Just perfect for light coverage
I’ve tried all the tinted moisturizers out there and this is the first that goes on smoothly over my morning serum and gives just a hint of coverage which for most days is all I want. It smells great and has caused ZERO irritation on my sensitive combination skin. Love.
Great Light Moisturizer
Love that it has SPF and blends well. It’s not the most moisturizing however, so I think I will need to amp up with something more powerful in the winter.
Faithful to the nutrient day cream, the tinted day cream appears to be a little thinner, but provided overall good coverage, and is a good product for those worried about any white tint of the nutrient day cream. I prefer the Nutrient Day Cream without tint because of the thicker consistency, but would use this in a pinch. The JR products are the best for the SPF coverage without leaving the skin with a film or feeling gritty.
I love the nutrient day cream with SPF and thought this tinted version would be just as perfect but it gets gloopy in the bottle fast and really offers very little tint.
Sometimes trying to do too many things is too much.
